You will be able to compare script to the movie actors behaviors and verbiage as you will be shown a short clip of the movie to follow along to! Keith will lead you through a discussion about what you saw and how it was converted from novel to screenplay and will touch on some of the basics of the writing and movie business. 4:30PM - 5:15PM VIP’S OF SELF-PUBLISHING (SHOW STAGE) Self-publishing creator, Victor Dandridge, heads a forum-style discussion on the practices of self-publishing comic books. Guided with his own years of experience as both a comic book fan and creator, Victor aims to lead this discussion, interacting with the attending audience, to share ideas for comic book production, marketing and distribution. 5:00PM- 5:45PM THE SYNERGY OF VIDEO GAMES, FILM AND BOOKS (ROOM 113) Transmedia is influencing entertainment at large intertwining video games, film, and the literary industry. Today, you'd be hard pressed to find a video game without cinematics and filmic cutscenes, not to mention how many countless films are based on novels. How will this synergy impact these industries in the future? In this panel, James plans on discussing some basic financial and investing concepts designed specifically for people in the comics industry. He plans on going over types or IRA's, what a mutual fund is, along with some self publishing advice. As a writer, penciller, inker, colorist, and letterer, Kool handles every job on his comic series, Evenfall. From the original thumbnails to the final printed version, Kool provides guidance, wisdom, and the lessons he has learned along the way as an up-and-coming talent in comics. The panelists are made up of writers, illustrators, filmmakers, cosplayers, musical artists, actors, bloggers and industry insiders. With topics that range from: Why we love the apocalypse to what makes a good superhero. This panel will be a demonstration of the steps taken to bring an idea from script to screen. Cook will begin with a short story of how he became an animator back in the late 1970s and then describe the different departments in an animation studio and what they do to move the development of the cartoon forward.
