Phoenix, AZ April 2, 2010: James Marsters, the popular television actor and singer/songwriter, will be playing for fans at the Phoenix Comicon this May. His show will take place on the Saturday, May 29th.
“He’s such a performer!” said Scott Haag, Phoenix Comicon Music Programming Director, “He’s definitely a crowd pleaser.”
As a singer/songwriter, Marsters has enjoyed sell-out concerts in America, Canada, Australia and Europe. He brought out his first solo album, Civilized Man, in 2005 and has followed it up with Like A Waterfall.
Marsters first came to the attention of the general public playing the popular character Spike, a platinum-blond English vampire in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off series, Angel. Since then, he has gone on to play other science fiction roles, such as the alien super villain Brainiac on the Superman-inspired series Smallville. He currently appears in Syfy’s Caprica and most recently, Marsters was in Hawaii to join the cast of CBS’s Hawaii Five-O pilot. He will be guesting as the nemesis of lead character Steve McGarrett.
Marsters also wrote the comic book Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Spike and Dru for Dark Horse Comics.
“James is definitely an artist, through and through,” said Matt Solberg, Convention Director, “He’s a phenomenal actor, writer, and his music is a must-hear at this year’s convention.”
