11:30-12:15PM THE ART OF SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON PRODUCTION WITH ANIMATOR/DIRECTOR TOM COOK (ROOM 12)
Wizard World is proud to present world-renown animator Tom Cook (Tarzan; Flash Gordon; He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; She-Ra Princess of Power). This panel will be a demonstration of the steps taken to bring an idea from script to screen. Cook will begin with a short story of how he became an animator back in the late 1970s and then describe the different departments in an animation studio and what they do to move the development of the cartoon forward. Tom will have a few scenes he has worked on over the years on video and then will open the floor for questions about either the process or any other question you may have. So come out and see first-hand how your favorite cartoons were made.

English TV actor, thespian and film director, Matt Smith, is joining Wizard World for an inside look into his journey as actor. Best known for his portrayal of the wibbly-wobbly Doctor in the BBC's Doctor Who, Matt Smith has not only left his indelible mark on the 50-year-old legacy, but also taught us that bow ties and fish sticks with custard are cool. Join us for this discussion with Matt Smith as he shares his favorite memories of traveling through time, his growth as an actor over the past 4 years, and how being the iconic Doctor has changed his life.

Join the host for the show "Superheroic Science" on WOW1TV to discuss the real life implications and scientific issues of having superpowers. For instance: the Invisible Woman would be blind because light is shining straight through her instead of reflecting off of her; Thor would kill Jane due to decompression sickness if he flew straight up by swinging his hammer, and Ant Man would not be able to effectively punch a person because his arm is so thin and short his punches would be comparable to being poked by a tattoo needle. This panel is science-heavy and is recommended for audience members 15+.
