Calling all independent filmmakers and fans of independent film: Wizard World is proud to present the Wizard World Film Festival! Here, filmmakers from all around the world will compete for fame, glory and great prizes, such as priceless VIP Experiences, exclusive autographs and photo ops with celebrities. The latest and greatest in independent film will be screened all weekend, with a red carpet awards ceremony to be held at the conclusion of the festival. Richmond is rich with history, and some say it's also rich with paranormal activity. If ghosts and supernatural creatures hang around, they are doing it in the city's theaters, museums, on battlefields and plantations. From murders to curses to lost loves and town tragedies, journalist and TV host Aaron Sagers (Paranormal Paparazzi, ParanormalPopCulture.com) and other experts will explore their favorite spooky stories of Richmond.

7:00 - 7:45PM COSTUMES + PLAYING = COSPLAY! SO WHAT DOES THAT ACTUALLY MEAN? (ROOM E10A)
Join Wizard World’s Damian Beurer and an assembly of top-notch cosplayers who will tell you everything you need to know about dressing up in costumes and going out in public. From wardrobe malfunctions to crazy fans, to how to construct your own costumes and even how to go to the bathroom (you know, in costume), this cosplay squad will give you the inside skinny on the ultimate in spandex fandom. We’ll share photos, take questions from the audience, and hopefully inspire you to join in.

11:30 -12:15PM THE ART OF SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON PRODUCTION WITH ANIMATOR/DIRECTOR TOM COOK (ROOM E10D)
The Art of Saturday Morning Cartoon Production with Animator/Director Tom Cook Wizard World is proud to present world-renown animator Tom Cook (Tarzan; Flash Gordon; He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; She-Ra Princess of Power) to Richmond! This panel will be a demonstration of the steps taken to bring an idea from script to screen. Cook will begin with a short story of how he became an animator back in the late 1970s and then describe the different departments in an animation studio and what they do to move the development of the cartoon forward. Tom will have a few scenes he has worked on over the years on video and then will open the floor for questions about either the process or any other question you may have. So come out and see first-hand how your favorite cartoons were made!

11:30 - 12:15PM COSPLAY BULLYING: HOW TO IDENTIFY AND RISE ABOVE IT (E21)
A panel to bring attention to and address body shaming, racism, negativity, bullying etc in the cosplay community and how we can all work to overcome it.

Marvel editors will be conducting portfolio reviews. Here's what you need to know:
• Portfolios will need to be dropped off between the hours of 4:00-6:00PM on Friday and 3:00-5:00PM on Saturday at the Wizard World Information booth.
• Portfolios MUST contain your contact information. This includes your full name, cell phone number, and e-mail address.
• Portfolio reviews will happen Saturday from 12:00-1:30PM and Sunday from 12:00-1:30PM in ROOME11C. If you will not or cannot be present at this time, do not leave your portfolio.
• Do not leave original work with us. Whatever your portfolio contains, make sure you keep the original work. We cannot be responsible for any lost or misplaced work.
• Please respect the Marvel editors time and opinions.
• Focus on your sequentials. While cover artwork is important, most new artists are hired to do interiors.
• Review sessions are limited to artists only.

Giancarlo Esposito is a celebrated television, film and stage actor whose acting career spans over several decades. He’s recently earned rave reviews and awards buzz starring as Gustavo 'Gus' Fring in AMC’s critically acclaimed award-winning series Breaking Bad opposite Bryan Cranston, as well as playing Major Tom Neville on the hit series Revolution.

2:30 – 3:15PM DECADE OF THE DEAD: A ZOMBIE-VERSARY WITH AARON SAGERS (ROOM E21)
Ten years ago, the dead came back to life in a big way, and the zombie genre has been shambling along ever since. From 28 Days Later, Shaun Of The Dead, The Zombie Survival Guide, The Walking Dead comic, Dawn of the Dead remake and more, 2003/04 was a period that kickstarted the current wave of undead heads. Join zombie guru Aaron Sagers, Editor At Large of Blastr.com and zombie fiend, and other experts as he discusses the important Zombie-versary, and why the era was so important. Zombies encouraged to attend!

3:00 - 3:45PM PERSPECTIVE GRIDS 101 WITH ERYK DONOVAN (ROOM E10A)
Starting with a basic breakdown of hanging figures on a horizon line, artist Eryk Donovan will address basic methods of using Perspective Grids to compose a comic panel and demonstrate how to use them. A short Q&A will be held to answer any questions or to clarify points of the demonstration. Attendees can bring paper, pencil, and a ruler to take notes if they'd like!

3:30 - 4:15PM HOW TO SURVIVE A KILLER TV SHOW WITH JON BERNTHAL AND SARAH WAYNE CALLIES (GRAND BALLROOM)
They survived the zombie apocalypse, now learn about the newest projects keeping Jon Bernthal & Sarah Wayne Callies busy! Jon will talk his time as “Shane Walsh” on The Walking Dead, spills details about his recent work in The Wolf of Wall Street, Mob City & Fury. Sarah will share stories about her roles as “Lori Grimes” and “Dr. Sara Tancredi” from Fox’s Prison Break. Come out Saturday and together we'll learn how the 3 Act Structure functions in modern storytelling and create a story or two of our own! International Comics and Literature teacher Michael Ferrara is back from Istanbul to help you tell your own story.

The Super Power Beat Down web series takes two super powered legends and make them battle! Wolverine vs Predator, Superman vs Thor, Batman vs Deadpool!! Before every episode viewers vote to determine the winner! Damian Beurer (Host) will show you clips from the series, answer questions and tell you all about the behind the scenes shenanigans! The show is hosted by Marisha Ray and Damian Beurer. Together they battle with their sci-fi/fantasy knowledge and comic wit to see who they think the winner will be. The series is produced by Aaron and Sean Schoenke, Damian Beurer and Nikolay Zamkovoy.

ComicsOnline Podcast Host Kevin Gaussoin and the Virginia staff of ComicsOnline record the ComicsOnline Podcast live. Audience members will be invited in on the conversation about everything geek pop culture!

4:45 - 5:15PM MICHAEL ROOKER VS THE GALAXY (GRAND BALLROOM)
Michael Rooker, who burst on the scene more than two decades ago in the title role in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, also had key roles in Cliffhanger, The Bone Collector, Mississippi Burning, Sea of Love and Days of Thunder. While many have fit the brute, villain and psychopath type, he has also shown versatility in numerous “good guy” roles in his career, none more apparent than the love-hate fan favorite Merle Dixon on AMC’s acclaimed series, The Walking Dead.
